As political tension grows in the United States of America, both the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control have been undermined and politicized. This has led to a growing distrust of these organizations within the American population. However, both groups have a “last line of defense” in respect to approval and distribution of a vaccine – outside experts both supported and respected by the national public. If either of these groups are ignored and/or sideline, the safety and efficacy of any vaccine can be questioned. The panels of experts operate with complete transparency. Finally, although there are situations in which these groups may face turbulence, they operate to serve the people, not the agendas of any Government.
